Masculine cards

Hello everyone, it's Danita from danitasdesigns.blogspot.com.

I have been practicing making Masculine cards all month. I find them to be most challenging because of the lack of bling, flowers and ribbons. I decided to challenge myself this month with this task. I started out really slow and wanted to give up several times, but I pushed on. I have a few more on my blog, if you would like to take a look (I hope you do).

Here's the first one in this set:
I used the Tim Holtz Retro Grunge Paper Stash and Candi dots colored with my Copic Marker. The badge is a die from Spellbinders.
Teehee, I was playing around with an image from the Silhouette store to see if I could turn it into a card. I did.  This one was kind of fun to make.
DCWV Natural Cardstock, gears, spirals and Thickers was used to create this one.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!!!

A 'Gentle' Reminder

Hi Everyone

Michelle here from Lady of Leisure Ink - thank you once again Pam for having me.  As we all know October is 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month', and so I have a card to share with everyone, which I hope will act as a 'gentle' reminder about not such a gentle subject.  Forgive my sense of humor - it's just they way I am.

This image was a 'freebie' - given  away by Tamara,(the artist behind The Stamping Chef) - she gave this as part of a challenge on her Facebook group.  Thank You Tamara!

The background of the card is paper from DCWV 'Rockstar' stack, and the letters are cut with my Cameo, run through the Xyron and coated in pink glitter.  Here is a closer look at them and the image which of course is coloured with ProMarkers.

I hope you won't be offended my the inside sentiment, as I said it is my sense of humor and how I tend to handle serious/difficult topics like this - but I truly want you to take it seriously.

I am not going to go on about the number of people I know who had their breast cancer detected early because of mammograms, or were diagnosed too late due to lack of screening - sadly, we all know too many.  Just get it done, OK?

See you next time.

Michelle

Challenge #78 - Embossing

Hi
The challenge this week at DS4J is Embossing and the the host is ME - Yeah!
The challenge -

Zing up your paper creation with embossing. Use either wet or dry embossing. If you want to go the extra mile use both :).  Our challenge date starts today - Wednesday 16th October 2013 and ends on Tuesday 29th October 2013. We would love to see what you do . We would prefer you to use our digi stamps from our shop of course ( you will have an extra edge when it comes time for drawing the winner)  but you can also use other stamps.  Do link up your projects in the linky at  DS4J
I am excited ! Are you?
The challenge runs until Tuesday 29th October 2013 (south african time)

I decided to make a crossover card

I merged these 3 images -

and colored with copics.
The embossing folder is Anna Griffin folder and I inked the folder and embossed the glimmer misted cardstock. I also then hit some spots with gold foil pen to add some interest. The stamp is also from Anna Griffin sentiment and is heat embossed.. So this card incorporates both the wet and dry embossing. I have also inked up edges and more using chalk ink
Don't forget to link up your card at DS4J

I want to enter this card in some challenges

High School Graduation 2011

Hi Everyone,

Lisa from Lisa's Craft Room here to share my project. Thank you Miss Pam for having me :)
Well, my son graduated in June of 2011 from High School and I am just starting to get the pictures scrapped. I did get a few pages done but I need to concentrate on making his album complete. Most of his school years are done but his high school album consists of a contest he was in and came in First Runner Up, his Prom and Graduation. I thought that I would post two of them for my project today. I keep promising myself that I will do a page or two a night but that never happens, but it will soon. Winter is creeping up on us so that will be a great time to get ahead. :)

I used card stock from a High School stack, Jolee's stickers, some ribbons and other stickers. I cut out a piece from another copy of his ceremony book and inked it up and placed that on the page.
Scrapbooking is still my passion and I am so happy that I found this hobby. Sorry my post isn't that descriptive. I want to thank you for stopping by and thank you Pam for allowing me to be on the Design Team. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am thankful because I have Monday off :)

His and hers twin birthday cards

Almost forgot it's the first Sunday of the month and my turn to post over at the Bugbytes :).  Hello bloggers This is Melody at A Splash Here and There blog.  Thank you Pam for having me over to share a crafty project with your readers.  My twin niece and nephew had their 2nd birthday party yesterday and I created two separate cards for them - after all, each is beginning to have his and her own personality ;).  These cards are A2 size cards designed on the Silhouette Studio and all cuts were done using my Cameo.

The base of the cards and all of the inside parts were by Lori Whitlock called birthday candle pop up card (Design ID #40180).  I used the fonts already in my computer to write personalized sentiment before I cut the inside mat.  I made the candle image to be a print only in my choice of color, duplicated that to have 2 birthday candles in each card.  Below are the pieces after printing and then cutting.

The banners for the font of the card were by a set of ribbon banners (Design ID #24243) by Jamie Koay. I used the fonts from my library to cut the letters of the twins' names inside the banners. The images were by Polly Craft, colored with Promarkers.  I imported the images onto the Studio to size them inside scalloped square and oval images by Lori Whitlock (Design ID #26510).

Some closeups of the cards after assembly.  I used some scrap ribbons, buttons and flowers to embellish and some foam mounts for some depth here and there.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Sunday!

So Old Fashioned

Hi everyone.  It's Karon here with you today, from Karon's Krafty Korner - thanks for having me pop by each month Pam.

It's a bit short and sweet this month I'm afraid.  I am in the middle of decorating the second of two bedrooms, but I had an hour on Monday and couldn't resist popping in to my craft room to make a quick card to share with you.

I had bought this little telephone stamp by Hot of the Press called "Hello", and as it came with the perfect little sentiment - I had to make an old fashioned card.  Here is a close up of the stamp, which was stamped with CTMH Chocolate and the little sentiment actually comes separate so you can place it where you wish.

The papers are from a lovely little Paper Collage Kit by Sarah Lugg, called With Love.  Lots of fabulous papers, tags and borders and thought they were perfect for this card.

SARAH LUGG WITH LOVE PAPER COLLAGE KIT

I distressed all the edges of all the layers and then used Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink, to ink all the edges.

I raised the stamped image up on some pop dots to add a little dimension, as this card is otherwise very flat (great for posting though).

For the inside, I used the same papers as the front.  Also, I decided I just had to use the telephone stamp once again, however, I masked off the edge as I only wanted part of the stamp to show and therefore leaving room to write a message.

Sorry, for the short and sweet post - I really must get back to the decorating :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting.
