This is Jen from 3Cats and a Bug. Thank you again Pam for inviting me to be on your design team!
I wanted to make something for my Mom-in-law, but I wanted to do something different. I looked around the web and checked out You-tube and decided on a mini gate album. One of the video's I looked at can be found here. It's taken me 4 days to complete my album, but only because I didn't add all the stickles and liquid pearls until after I put the book together. (Next time I won't make that mistake!) A quick picture of the cover before I start explaining how I made this.
{You can click on the picture to see in greater detail}
I started out with my front cover, and cut two pieces of chip board cut at 4.5 X 6.
I cut my back cover at 6 X 9. For my inside page, I just used the back 12 X 12 pieces of my DCWV paper packs, I didn't need the inside pages to be any thicker than that.
I cut a total of 6 pieces of 4.5 X 6 (2 were for the front cover!)
I cut 4 pieces of 6 X 8 for long pages.
I did mine a little differently, I used 2 4.5 X 6 pages for my cover, then layered 2 6 X 8 pages (one on the right and one on the left), then 2 4/5 X 6 pages, 2 more 6 X 8 pages and 2 more 4.5 X 6 pages and then the back cover. Except for the covers, every page has pockets, either from patterned paper or vellum on the 6 X 8 pages.
(I put blank placers in for my MIL, so she can add her own pictures or whatever she wants. She turned 89 on Feb. 28th, so I wanted to make it as easy as possible for her!)
And finally the back page!
Have an awesome day!
Your album is simply beautiful, I love everything about it
