Birthday Wishes

These digi images are so fun aren't they. I so love coloring them with copics.
I love this one from Mosdigital pencil. I feel like running and catching before the girl drops the cake.

Simple embellishments. Some stickles, button, ribbon, crochet thread and some inking. Corners were cut using decorative scissors from hobby lobby. So worth it for about 10 dollars.

Party at Hetcanary blog

There is a party at http://hetcanaryblog.blogspot.nl/2012/08/verrassing-voor-jullie.html

Here's my card using the image

She is so beautiful isn't she.

Pattern paper and cardstock is from colorbox - walmart.

Brads, ribbons, buttons, stick pin (handmade using pearls and beads) , cake doily cut to form border around the image, ink and paper trey ink stamp complete the card.

My Sketch and My Craftroom!

Hi! It's Jeannie from Nonna's Scraps. I am so excited to be here with all of you! I have discovered the coolest app on my I Pad and I want to share it with you---as part of my craft room.

Let me introduce you to “My Sketch” for  I Phone and I pad. If you have an Android device, Pencil Sketch and Sketch Me are similar apps. The premise for all is similar: you either take a picture or use one from your library and then the app converts the photo into a sketch, beautifully. No further introduction, let's craft!

Ingredients:
8.5 x 11" white card stock
Card base: 8.5" x 5.5"
A photo sketch app for your phone or computer
Make-the -Cut software
Lettering Delights Digital papers: Forget Me Not and Design Blues
IRock heat set tool and metallic brads
Distress Ink: Antique Photo
Assorted glues
Assorted embellishments
Zing

The steps:

Download and install the correct app for your system.

Open the app.

I was then prompted to either take a photo or choose a photo from my library.

Okay, I'll admit that I already had a photo in mind! :-)

I cannot remember where this was obtained, but I love this scene!

This particular app prompted me to "set the sketch area," and choose what I wanted to sketch.

Next, I selected "Sketch photo." Wow! There are so many choices and types of sketch! I decided the Sepia Sketch was what I wanted....this time.

There are also two types of styles from which to choose, one is not as fine as the other. Both, are awesome! The app is so polite, it asked me to wait while it sketched my "beautiful photo." I could then adjust the photo to my exact likeness.

The "My Sketch" app then allows me to save in the best resolution for my purposes. Because I want to print and cut my picture I chose 100%. I also had numerous choices for the place I saved my sketch and I could even send this as a postcard! But I want to add this to a card for a friend recently diagnosed with cancer.

I can now take this into my Make the Cut software and use it as "Texture" to create my card.

I selected File: Import: Pixel Trace and located my image on my computer. Note the stars; with the name highlighted I chose open.

With Pixel Trace open I chose the following settings: Alpha 255, Threshold 255, Texturize path, Scale to size 3. 51 x 2.62". I selected Import and responded "No" to the pop-up window.

Because I do not want this square, I chose the rounded corner rectangle from the basic shapes menu. I stacked the two shapes. (Be sure that all shapes are on their own layer! (Notice the lower right corner of the picture.) The photo will be printed and the shape will be cut.

Using the features of Make the Cut, I then created the parts of my card. I chose to fill each shape with a "texture" from my Lettering Delights digital paper collections.

Again, I made sure that each object was placed on its own layer. Note the layer with the circled name. This is just a rectangular shape from the basic shapes. It is placed in this position because it holds the position of the print and cut marks in a stable position as I turn layers off and on for printing and cutting.

When it is all said and done, this is how my screen looked:

Before I send my printed copy to my home printer, I selected the layers marked by stars below:

I placed the printed sheet on my Zing mat and returned to my computer. I selected the layers marked by a star to send to my cutter:

All that is left is assembling the card! Using this app in my crafting is soon to be a favorite! I encourage you to try it, too!

In Love

Shirley aka Okieladybug from cricut MB has some beautiful challenges in the old cricut community facebook group. Now I keep promising that I will tackle layouts but please don't hold your breath on that. The card challenge though - yes I can do that.
I am also entering this in little scrap pieces challenge

This weeks sketch was

Since I updated my imagine I have begun using it a little.  My first attempt and the mat broke! EEKS!
Thankfully I had another mat and used that to make the card

The heart is from Sophie cartridge and the pattern for the heart is from Imagine art cartridge - Better Together. The rest of the pattern paper  is from Me and My big Ideas paper stack. The sentiment is from a sticker collection I had.  The scallop was using Martha Stewart punch and the blue label is using purple cow blade. Some crochet thread, buttons and rhinestones to embellish.

Back to school

It's back to school and I wanted to share a project which my son made (with a tiny bit of help from me)
I finally went up and updated my Imagine and made stuff using it all the while keeping my fingers crossed.
I got a couple of cartridges in eBay in the wee hours of night. That's a bad time lurking there as you cant resist. One of them was TBBM2 and the other was greeting cards.
So I decided to break open TBBM2 and print and cut. After silhouette you can say I love print and cut. But with this cartridge I wish I had just printed like a paper and used expression to cut as I haven't figured out a way to do scoring lines with Imagine.
But with the booklet it was kind of easy to figure out scoring lines.
The elements in the card was all chosen by my son  and so was the box and it's pattern

The imagine cartridge  was Imagine more (I think) for pattern and card and alarm clock.

The label is nestability label 20 with just right stamps for label 20 - fleur de lis.

The inside of the card - The sentiment inside was dictated by my son. I just stamped and tied the bows and he helped with assembling.

The envelope - stamped the just right stamp on an ivory envelope and added the flat bow.

The box

There was a gap on the sides and as I did not want my candies to fall off I just cut an inch square and pasted it

Hope you enjoyed this project.
And please if you have a trick to scoring with Imagine please do share.

Start Your Engines

Hey Everyone,
LisaB from Rather B Scrappin

This month I wanted to share a project I made for work. We have talked about a way to have friendly competition in the office. Along with another co-worker we came up with the idea for a race track.
This is the largest thing I think I have ever made. It is 19 feet long.

All items were made with the cameo. Each of the road signs represents cases closed.

Each employee will race down the road. Every unit has their own color. I laminated the cars so we can use dry erase markers to write the employees name on them.

Making the road was the easy part, but making it so the magnets (on the back of the cars) stick to it, was a little more challenging. I finally found these roofing pieces. They were bent, so I just hammered them out, then hot glued them to the back of the road.

I have a few more things I want to add to the wall (clouds, winners circle and a starting point) However put it up so everyone can get excited about this new friendly competition that will be starting September 1st.

I hope I was able to inspire you today! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Bugbytes
Until next time!
