 After inking up the edges to give this white canvas a little pop...

I decorated it with simple images cut from elegant edges cricut cart.

An oldie, but goodie!

Wow! I cannot believe that it is already the fourth Friday of June. Pam, thanks for letting me stop and visit for awhile!

My summer vacation is passing so quickly. With another surgery and watching a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 year old, I don't seem to be getting much done. First confession. Second is that I decided to revisit some earlier posts. This still is one of my favorite techniques, an oldie, but goodie!

I have to admit, I'm a little slow. I have been hearing about Washi Tape for awhile, but did not jump on the wagon. My excuse: because I have to order everything. One day, I was cruising on the net and   I found a tutorial on making your own Washi. I believe it is Jenny and you can find her tut here:

Well I never! There are some really cool tissue papers out there, making my tape was so much fun! I love the results! But, I had to put my own spin on this great technique. Enter the PC Imagine!

White tissue paper

Xyron 5" Creative Station
Xyron permanent or re-positional adhesive

PC Imagine 

Imagine Cartridge of Choice

Scotch Invisible Tape
Blue painter's tape
Brayer

• Cut your tissue paper into 4.5 x 10 1/2" strips. 

• Carefully run through the Xyron Creative Station. 
• Center between the marks.
• Apply slight pressure with fingers as the paper feeds.

• Brayer back of paper/Xyron 

• Trim sides evenly. 

• Remove clear plastic from front. 
• Adhere shiny side to mat. Position 1/4" from the edge of the mat (with the green arrow). Tape in position with Scotch tape at all corners and on leading edge of the mat. This allows the Imagine to read the PNC marks. As you can see, I used blue painter's tape along the entire lower edge. 

At the Imagine:

• Select the Basic Shape rectangle,  ratio of 1:2. Set the actual size to 4.5. 

• Flood fill with pattern of choice.
• Select; Settings : Print Only

• Load mat into Imagine and print. 

• Remove from mat. Trim to desired width. I used 1/2" for this card, but if I were to do it again, I would trim the tape to 1/4". 

• Apply to your project! I found it was easier to peel the backing away as I applied it---fewer changes for the tape to adhere to itself.

Fascinated with Fascinators

Hi Everyone,  Michelle here from http://ladyofleisureink.blogspot.com/.  Thanks Pam for having me over to play.

I was playing about with this gorgeous image from Saturated Canary the other day purely and simply because I wanted to make a 'fascinator' for her to wear.  You could say I've been fascinated with fascinators since last years Royal Wedding. Take a look at some of the lovely fascinators worn by Kate Middleton here.

So armed with these images, my ProMarkers and a little (well, tiny really) piece of tulle I set about creating.  Here is what I came up with.

My first image I really only coloured the skin, then then put a little pink on the dress and some grey shadowing.

I literally just scrunched up the tulle and stuck it in place with a glue dot and added a few beads.  Here is a close-up.

Then I thought it would be fun to play with a little piece of black tulle and mix things up.

The dress is coloured with the darkest greys and highlighted with a blender pen (here I change to a Copic blender as I prefer this to the ProMarker blender.)  And a close-up of her 'fascinator'.

I love the way both these images turned out, when you look at the side by side they almost don't look like the same image do they?

Big Boots to Fill

My 2nd card commission :). My sons liked my cards and asked me to make a father's day card

The images is Big Boots to Fill from Phindy's Place. The sentiment "for you father" is from Anna Griffin's. The big star and the label is nestability and the small star and stamp is from paper trey inc tiny tags. The card stock is coredinations sugar something and the pattern paper is from me and my big ideas I think. I just pulled out a random card stack and ruffled for a yellow/orange paper pattern and tore out one I liked. Totally winging it and still not using an electronic machine :)

Happy Father's Day Layouts

Good morning everyone!  It's been a while since I posted over here, life has been very busy, but I'm happy to be back sharing with you today. Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers out there including my own.  And because of the special day it is, I have a Father's Day layout to share with you guys.  These are pictures that were taken last year on Father's Day.  Unfortunately I was out of town with my youngest son, but my Dad, my husband and my oldest son got together for a short time that day.  And someone took some really good photos!  These are two layouts that I started a long, long, long time ago that I again got *stuck* on.  Brandy pulled these out the other week and we finished them. Now why are there two of them?  Remember last year when I was scrapbooking in doubles?  Yep, these were a part of that adventure - it's been that long.  So I have an extra one!  I think I'm going to put it in a frame and give it to my Dad when we get together later today.  I'm sure he will appreciate it.

And here is Number Two!

Look at that balloon journaling.  That was like, only the second print and cut I did with my Cameo.  Oh my, have I come a long way since then!

Fill this Day with Joy

I decided to do a card for Mo's challenge this week. The theme is At the park. I love this image - Telling it the dog so decided to color it. The sentiment is from paper trey ink Every day button bits - cut using nestability  Grommet tag. The border around the image is from the simple memories set from close to my heart which I got from my friend Sheila. You can find her online shop here - http://sassylady.ctmh.com/

The paper pattern (colored clouds) is from walmart coloring book. at the center I used ribbon from Micheals. The button border (blue strip) is a cookie cutter border die - Buttons from scrapyland. I then embossed some clear buttons with yellow zing powder. A couple of butterfly buttons from hobby lobby, a cake doily - small and 2 Candi completed the card

I love Art Impression stamps.
I had picked up a couple from Archiver's but had not paid much attention to the company name until my friend Michelle was looking for one particular one. Then I googled and realised that hey it's much cheaper when you get from the company direct :). So of course I got a bunch more. I find that digi stamps from bugaboo are also similar and so are some from I Brake for Stamps.
This one was so appealing especially nowadays when we hoard so many apps on our phones :)

The main stamp is Asleep on the Job and the sentiment "There's a nap for that"  came free with the order

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from paper trey ink. The flowers are made using ek success punch. I have also used MS punch for the border edge. The pattern paper is from DCWV posies.

It's been a busy month. I have not done much crafting. Thought I would catch up on it. I did color a couple of images and so decided to make it into a card. Lately all my machines have been sleeping. I use silhouette SD sometimes but even that is taking a rest. I did use the cuttlebug though for dry embossing and nestability cutting and some punches.

The image is from Strawberry Girl mo's digital pencil. The sentiment is pink stamper - (from fruit puns I think)
The pattern paper is from DCWV posies and the card stock is coredinations. I embossed it with cuttlebug folder and sandpapered the top to reveal the core. I colored some dew drops (these ones are the ones got from Michael's flower department . I think they are called acrylic drops or something). The tag is a nestability. I also added a pink acrylic flower.

Family Digi Layouts

Hi ~ Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway  with some digi layouts to share at the BugBytes today.

Many of you know that I broke my right wrist recently.  Yes I am right handed!!

One good thing that came of my broken wrist is I sat around a lot for the first week being waited on by my wonderful husband and sons!!

I also spent a ton of time on my laptop.  I took this time to play around with a digi software program I have had for a while.  I know Pam is an awesome digi gal and I was a bit nervous to post these beginning projects here, but Pam has always been super supportive and helpful and I know she won't laugh at my left-handed beginning work!!!

The first layout (above) is a simple layout.  I added the photo, 2 brads and the love charm.

Here is my lovely cast!!!

This layout was more challenging.  I started out with the blue polkadot paper and added the scallop (with a shadow) and then my two photos (with white borders and shadows).

 I added my title and journal (Tanner & Sabryna blowing bubbles after our annual egg hunt).

Tanner is my youngest son and Sabryna is my youngest niece.  They are 6 weeks apart and I love taking photos of them together!

I added the flowers and put brads in the centers.

I added the ribbon, but did not realize that the ribbon was not 12" long.  I went back to try to lengthen it and got an error message that meant the print quality would be compromised.

Soooo....

I went back to my photo file and cropped it!!
