Hey Ya'll,
Well, today is a fun day. First of all, it's my Design Team day here at The Bug Bytes. Secondly, it's a day for Cricut Couple to brag about a generous crafty friend's blog Melissa Made. Melissa and her Hubby created a couple of free frame digital images the other day and shared them on their blog. So... I thought... I would give it a try. Now, for those of you who are like Melissa, enjoy a good giggle when you look at my colored pencil version of her beautiful digi's, but for those of you who haven't tried working with digi's yet, give it a try... if I can do it, you certainly can. Hee! Hee!
The first card is a Thank you card that I made using Melissa's creation. I simply used colored pencils to color in the woodwork and the ropes. I used paper from the Roxie Paper Collection and Kraft Cardstock. I used some lace up the left side from my stash.
The old time photo is one that we did years ago and I thought this frame worked perfectly with it. I also loved the plaid background. The roses were hand cut from the paper. I also hand cut a little banner and wrote "Thank You Kindly!" on it and rolled it around a pen to give it the waves. A simple rope bow and it was all done on the front. Super simple, not a lot of expensive stuff and a really fun card front.
I added a simple sentiment mat on the inside for a written message. Now... for the second card, I used Shayne's (Melissa's Hubby) amazing frame! Let's hear it for the craft hubbies!!! YAY! His is a bit more contemporary, but I still looked at it as great for a rustic design because of the papers.
I also used colored pencils for this frame. I made it a bit smaller, put it on the red background and then cut the same shape around the outside to really make it stand out. I used some coordinating papers again, inked everything and added some fun western stickers from a REALLY OLD batch of stickers I didn't even remember I had. Hee! Hee!
I used Liquid Glass on the entire digi frame and then on the metal hardware parts of the stickers. BTW... This is a birthday card from my nephew. This is an old time photo he got on a visit last year.
Again, kept the inside very simple with a kraft mat and added a couple of more stickers.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my amateur attempt at digi's. Hee! Hee! If you are new to crafting or visiting blogs, you have a lot to look forward to in the craft blog part of the world wide web. You will be amazed at the generosity and talent available online. If you haven't been to http://melissamade2.blogspot.com, you need to hop on over and see what you are really supposed to do with digi's! Melissa even offers classes with her amazing marker talents. You will love everything you see!
So... Thank Miss Pam for letting me brag on friends today and for letting me play along with The Bug Bytes today! Thanks so much for visiting today and please leave a comment and let me know how amazing you think I did with these... or how hard you fell out of the chair laughing! Hee! Hee! Big Bug Hugs from Cricut Couple!
