Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge - #76

I am so loving the waltzing mouse stamps and their challenges.
One of my favorite stamps is their doily stamp. And that stamp is the whole reason I decided to risk getting get their stamps from UK.
I of course fell in love with their recipe stamps too. Now waltzingmouse, paper trey ink and Anna Giffin (for the lace stamps) are my fave now that the old Cornish heritage has closed down.

Link to their  challenge - http://waltzingmousesketchchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/12/challenge-76december-3-2011.html

Here is my take on that sketch

The plastic/acrylic cup thingy - clear box is from package of flower frogs which I recycled. I used glitter paper and Christmas paper from Joann's (it was about a dollar for 4 sheets each. Glitter is Martha Stewart - star glitter.  I mixed some blue and green stars with the white.
I cut the glitter paper using Floral Doily Nestabilities.
Then I cut the pattern paper from scallop Nestability after checking for size which would comfortably cover the plastic cup.
I placed the pattern paper so that the snowman would come in the center. Then I took Dainty Doily stamp and stamped the pattern paper around the snowman with versamark and used zing embossing powder (this one had white and silver mixed in it - not sure of the name ) . I also took part of a sentence stamp from seasonal remedies and just stamped good cheer and embossed (green ink and clear embossing). Now a way to selectively stamp is to mask the rest of the portion of stamp with a thin paper and then apply the stamp. In case of doily I didn't need to as the doily was just right but had to use this techniques for the words good cheer.
Then I used glossy accents and applied on the cup lip. added the glitter and carefully stuck the pattern paper. and then used pop dots and stuck to the glitter paper cut.
Punched some circles from coordinating pattern and solid cardstock and formed kind of scallop design at the top. I free hand drew a holly and cut 2 leaves. Turned it over and embossed the veins using a stylus. Took 3 red beads and glued the scallops, leaves and beads. Final touch was a bow made from hemp thread.
Hope you enjoyed the project. If you visit my blog I would so love and appreciate it if you would please  leave comments.
