I really like the way it turned out and it was as easy as I expected. You probably have seen these done before, but sometimes you need to see something a few times before you're finally pushed to do it. Maybe this will be that time!
Supplies:
Pillar candle (Mine is vanilla scented)
White tissue paper
Stamp of your choice (I used Christmas Collage-Stampin Up and Tis The Season-Christmas Crafts Hobby Lobby)
Ink (I used Black-Versafine; Cherry Cobbler, Green Garden and Crushed Curry-Stampin Up)
Heat gun
This is a big stamp, it fit the height of my candle perfectly (about 6"). I stamped the Christmas Collage image twice, side by side, on the tissue paper using my Versafine ink. I colored in parts of the image with red, green and yellow ink and stamped 'Tis the Season sentiment on the tissue paper. Next, I cut the tissue paper to fit the candle. I placed the tissue paper on the side of the candle and using my heat gun, proceeded to melt the wax slightly to hold the tissue paper in place. I continued this process until the tissue paper was wrapped completely around the candle and adhered by the thin layer of melted wax caused by the heat from the heat gun. For me this completed the project. You can embellish the candle as much, or as little, as you want. I love the design of this stamp so much, I didn't want to detract from it by adding other embellishments. Here are some more shots of the finished project:
If you've been wanting to try your hand at one of these, I strongly encourage you to do it. It's a very simple and inexpensive project. And the results are very rewarding.
Thanks for allowing me to share my project with everyone, Pam.
Happy Crafting!

Your candle is beautiful!! I have not made one of these in years. I love how you stamped almost all of the candle.
