Happy Thanksgiving Canvas Art

Hi everyone.  It's Debbie O'Neal here from Debs Eclectic Thoughts Blog.  Are you ready for the feasting to begin?  It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a few days away.  This year we will be staying in town with a  much smaller crowd at our house than last year.  And for that I am thankful !  Last year we did a HUGE  Family Reunion Thanksgiving that was fun but glad we get to have a little more relaxing time this year with just the immediate family.  If you want to see decor I made for last years event, check out this blog post http://debseclecticthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/11/getting-ready-for-thanksgiving.html.

I wanted to make something to display our Family Reunion Thanksgiving Photo of all of us so I made an altered canvas.  Have you tried doing one of these?  A 12X12 canvas, some ink and paint and scrapbook papers and embellishements and you have yourself a piece of canvas art to display a photo proudly.

They are so fun to make and pretty easy depending on how elaborate you want to make it. Details are on my blog if you want to try your hand at making one.  They are great to alter for any season. I am already working on a Christmas themed one.

Now I just need to go pick up the photo to put on it and I am all set to add it on the buffet serving table as part of the Thanksgiving decor this year.   Wishing each of you a Happy Thanksgiving....Gobble, Gobble !!!

  3. Now this is really neat. I've really never seen anything like it. It's a scrapbook page on a canvas! Thanks so much for the inspiration. I may have to try this one day.
