This is Pam
A while back I had made an Altered frame with liquitex gel beads, acrylic paint and some die cuts - http://www.thebugbytes.com/2011/05/altered-frame.html. Using the same method I made one more frame using this time die cuts from Life is a Beach cartridge. I usually cut images in sand colored cardstock and color it in if they are tiny. I have used same materials as last time ie
wooden frame - dollar frames at micheals
Gesso
Acrylic tube paint as
heavy body is good while mixing rather than liquid ones
Liquitex Gel Glass
Bead
Martha Stewart Glass
beads
Sponge brush to apply
Gesso
Plastic palette knife
to apply the glass bead mixture
Plastic or disposable
plate for mixing
Cardstock - I just
cut all of mine on beige and colored with markers but you can use appropriate
colors
Die cutting machine -
Here I have used cricut expression and Life is a Beach cartridge. But you can use any die cutting
machine
Glossy accents or
diamond glaze
Water in a disposable
container or a plastic container
And for the clouds I just tore up some tissue and applied it when paint is yet wet.
You can of course seal it all in the end using gel medium or a suitable sealant
Sooooo pretty frame and lovely/fun techniques. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOH Pam - this is SO fun - I love the sand texturing and all those adorable shells! What a great idea to just add tissues too for clouds! LOVE!

Love it! What a wonderful design and look at the texture on this frame. Love it... So what are you going to put in the inside? Do you have a trip in the near future?
ReplyDeleteWow-wow-wow and WOW!!! Pam, I love this!!! You really knocked this frame out!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try this technique! I tried some of those gel glass beads before and ended up throwing it all out because I didn't know how to use it and it wasn't working for me. I'll get more and try your technique -- I really like this frame!
Pam, our new friend Sheila from Sheila's Super Duper Crafty Corner, will probably drop by to ask you a question. She uses the Silhouette and wants to know if the files can be converted to cricut/gypsy cut.files so she can share her files with us all. I mentioned to her that I thought you used the Silhouette, so maybe you can help her when she comes over. If you can, we'll all appreciate it!!! You're a sweetie, so I knew you wouldn't mind my mentioning you!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!!
I know I can count on you to raise the bar and really come out with something spectacular and unique. Awesome!
ReplyDeletePam, this is a great idea! I have so many beach photos and no place to show them! Thank you for another great project.
ReplyDeleteThank you all of you for your sweet comments and kristie just dropped in on your blog and your projects are awesome!
ReplyDeleteNow I have an idea for some similar frames I have been hoarding. THANKS :)
