Halloween Wall Decor

Hey Everyone!
LisaB here from Rather B Scrappin.
I am so excited for my first post on The bugbytes.
I want to thank Pam for allowing me to design for her blog. There is a lot of great inspiration in this DT and I know that you will be inspired by everyone!!!

My project is a Halloween Wall Decor. This year I wanted to have more decorations in my home during the upcomming hoilday season so I started with a simple wall hanging.

Banners are really big right now and as much as I love banners I just dont have the room for them. But I do have the room for this type of banner. It can go on any door in the home.

I started with a few pieces of chipboard. The amount will depend on how long the word you want to use.
I cut the shape on the Cricut. This particular shape was cut from Songbird, but you can use any shape you like. I cut my image at 7 inches.

Next I painted the chipboard. You really only have to pain the edges, so the brown does not show through. Which I did on one side. I painted the other side completely because even though it is the back, it will be hanging on french door so you can see it. Again not necessary but feel free to do this, if you are anal like me!

I covered the chipboard with Halloween paper!

Next I cut the letters on the cricut. I cut out each letter 5 times, and then glued them together. This shows the 4 pieces I used as the base. I then covered the letters with the color I wanted the letters to be...purple

Notice the thickness this gives the letters.

Another shot of the thickness

I then hot glued ribbon to the back of each chipboard shape. I used a scrap piece of paper to secure the glue as this ribbon was sheer and I burnt my finger on the first letter. :)

You can then add any additional embellishments to the chipboard pieces to make a great wall decor.

I hope I was able to inspire you today! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Bugbytes!
Until next time!
