Hello crafty friends! This is Amanda from Creations of a Paper Addict. I am so grateful that Pam has once again allowed me to share my project on her blog. Thank you Pam!!
First I must apologize that if you visit my blog, it has not been updated recently. I am in the process of moving my craft room making it difficult to do regular projects but I will be back at it very soon!
I'm sure we've all had frustrations in trying to make masculine cards for the men in our lives. I love making cards and making my dad's birthday card was no exception. It's difficult to come up with a concept but I was trying to come up with something comical. After going through some of my cartridges, I saw the 'Wanted' poster on the Old West cartridge. And that was it.....I had to use it!
I am sorry there aren't many pictures to go with this, but this was my finished project. I will explain what I did.
I started with a card base that was 10x7, so I have a 5x7 card once folded. Paper was from my stash and I'm really not sure where it came from. I cut out two of the posters and used my gypsy to get the perfect size. I inked the edges of both. For the inside, I used Microsoft word to type out what I wanted it to say and printed it on plain printer paper. I then took my cricut cut and used repositionable adhesive and stuck it to the paper over the part that printed. I then put the paper back into the printer and printed again. After that was printed, I used permanent adhesive and stuck it to the inside of the card.
For the front, I used a frame from Old West and used a black marker to trace the lines that the cricut cut into it to try to make it look more like Wood. I cut out the Wanted from Old West and used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching to make them standout a little more. The cowboy was from Paper Doll Dress Up. So cute! His face is of course a Peachy Keen face....I think its a paper doll face assortment is what it came from. He is scowling cause he is not happy about getting older. My dad is supposedly turning 40 every year, hence the humor in the card. I used my white gel pen on his pants and also traced the lines on the rest of his clothes with a black pen so they would show up. I was so happy with the way it came out....and not girly at all :)
I hope you all have enjoyed my project! I look forward to making something to share again soon!
Happy Crafting!
~Amanda
