Happy Fall - Ya'll!!! This is Amy from redwolfSCRAPS. It is my honor to once again post as a guest designer on Pam's blog. This was a very difficult challenge for me - I am a "scrap the picture" kind of gal - and I don't have any Halloween pictures yet - and none left over from previous years. I did gather from this challenge that I might want to pick up the October 31st cartridge :-). We are not a very ghouls and goblins family - but oh how we do love the CANDY!!!
I used the gypsy mat size of 12 x 24 to pre-plan my 2 page layout. I then slid all the items over to the left and changed my mat size to 12 x 12 and started using the layers to set up my cutting mats.
The letters are from the Disney - Pooh Font Set cartridge; the spider, web and cauldron are from Paper Doll Dress Up. I love that cartridge because there are so many accessory cuts, but they do not have layers...that's why the Gypsy hide contour feature is so nice. I hid all of the lines on the green "goo", then I was able to use the lines on the black to cut out certian sections so you could see thru to the "goo". Oh and can't leave out the weld button for the font!
Here are all the raw cut pieces, and the tools I used: some glimmer mist, stickles, a few different colors of inks to add dimension, my glue pen, tweezers, white and silver gel pens. For the candy I used a set of Jolee's stickers I had in my stash. The paper is American Crafts and Bazzill. After I took this picture I realized I need my craft knife (web pieces and fine details of cauldron), my sissors and my ATG gun - how could I forget my ATG gun!!!
The finished 2 page layout.
Details of the candy cauldron.
To give the spider a little "umph" I used my silver gel pen and added spider webs and highlight on the legs and body - I even gave him a little smiley face. I also added those little "wiggly" lines for future journaling.
I tucked the webs in and out of the words and photo mats. The big spider reminded me of Charlotte's web, so I added all of the little spiders hanging and crawling everywhere with my black sharpie pen.
With Charlotte in mind - I had one of the little spiders spell out "Happy Halloween"
I hope you enjoyed my layout. The other thing I thought would have been cute is a big haunted house in the background (the reason I wanted the Oct 31st cart) and add a picket fence with some of the PDDU halloween characters walking down the sidewalk - I just thought that would be cute. Have a great month - this is my favorite time of the year.

This is terrific. I never thought of using the 12 X 24 mat to setup a 2 page layout, so thank you for the suggestion.
