Hello Blogger Friends
My name is Agnes aka flowerdisco. I am honored to be one of the Gyptians. My turn has finally arrived where I share with you my project. I mostly do cards but when I do layouts most of the time are smaller than 12 x 12 .
I chose an 8 x 8 layout for today and I am using the COM which is Sentimentals. I won this marvelous cart on a blog candy and as many other cartridges we own it hasn't been used to it's full potential. I am glad this is the cart of the month.
My paper supplies are from American Crafts and Die Cuts with a View. I also used some stickles and a MS paper punch.
This is my Gypsy screen and it is showing you a few things, but what I really want you to look is that I will be cutting the Honey shadow right into the Crown Stamp cut. This saves me cardstock (no that I care) but it is an easy thing to do and if I am using an expensive cardstock I can save some of it using this technique.
The Crown Stamp image is from page #50 and the Honey word from the phrase feature on page #44. I cut the Crown Stamp at 7.25 inches high and the Honey word and it's shadow at 2.15 inches.
I also cut the Bee, the blue stripes and it's shadow from page #22 at 2.50 inches.
The photo above is showing how well the word fit in it's shadow. The rectangle/frame you see above the word is there just as a guide for my 4x6 photo placement.
The rest was just putting it together.
Super Simple and Super Easy!
The photo is of my and my dear husband taken at the end of the school year for my
son's High Honor Society Induction.
Enjoy!
Very nice job!

Love the layout. I really like the idea with the Honey shadow. I hadn't thought of that before.
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the numbers on the side of the grid to line up your 8x8 paper and then used the middle (negative) for the other cuts. I have saved so much paper with my Gypsy!!

ReplyDeleteLove your layout. What a great idea to cut out the shadow from your paper to use the color underneath. I'll definitely have to give this a try. I'm all for saving paper where ever I can.
