Hello everyone, this is Amy for RedWolfSCRAPS. I know that Heritage is the cartridge of the month...and I totally have 2 projects planned, but Im an inspired scrapper...if I aint feelin' it - it aint happen'....so those are still in the works, but here is a layout that I was inspired to do (thanks to a sale at AC Moore!) I got the brand new Summer Vacation solutions cartridge, truely to complete this one layout! But since I wasnt planning on this being my blog post I dont have any "working" photos.
The background cloud paper is from the DCWV Songbird Stack, all of my cardstock is American Crafts. I really love using the gypsy because I can use scraps (the tickets, I was able to size them for the small sheet of brown I had) and the rollercoaster I was able to make as large as I possibly could. I was also able to use the layers so I could "create" my layout and see what everything was going to look like.
I made this right before the update was released or I could have done 2 of the following ideas on the tickets: 1) I could have hid the words "ticket" and make background tag, instead I cut scrap peices of paper and glued it to the back, 2) I still have to test my theory on this one, can I hide contour the words and then weld in my own words? I could have done Summer 2009? (Im not really good with catchy titles and journaling)...but the main thing is Im excited about the new HIDE CONTOUR feature and cant wait to expore it more.
The dissapointing thing about solutions cartridges is they dont include the layers, can you imagine all the cool things you could haave added to this rollercoaster, I was able to create my own paper pieced trains, and use scrap paper behind the stars, but there is also a ferris wheel on this cart and you know all those seats are usually crazy colors.
For the grass I just used some scrap green paper, cut the top on a curvy line and then used my sissors to cut little slits creating the blades of the grass, then I glued them to the paper and bent them down with my fingers. I hope you enjoy, and I promise to post my Heritage creation this week...I need to get inspired quickly as one is a card for my grandmothers bday (Im going to visit this weekend!) Thank you all, it has been a true honor.

Very nice! My son always loved roller coasters and that was the main reason I bought the cart. I am also planning to do something similar.
