Sew Sweet Card using Plantin Schoolbook

Hi, this is Joy from Everyday Cricut and Obsessed with Scrapbooking and I'm thrilled to be a guest designer today on Pam's blog! Thank you so much, Pam, for having me!

Today's card is a standard A2 size (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") and is composed of papers and chipboard accents by Cosmo Cricket. Ribbon by Papertrey Ink and sentiment made on my computer and punched out with a label Stampin Up! punch.

I inked all the edges of the papers with appropriate colored chalk ink by ClearSnap/Colorbox. I LOVE those inks - no smearing! Using the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge, I cut out the zig zag pattern at 3/4" twice and then added pen stitching - once in black and once in white.

I always like to add in something on the inside just to tie the front and insides together, design wise. I just LOVE this measuring tape paper by Cosmo Cricket. The paper used here is from their Material Girl and Garden Variety lines of paper.

I added another chipboard dress accent on the envelope and below is an up close look at the zig zag piece from Plantin Schoolbook. It's a great accent for the whole sewing theme!

Thanks so much for stopping by, my sweet papercrafting friends!!

  11. Love the little chipboard dresses. This is a very cute card. Is the rickrack piece always the same length when you cut it? I'm trying to learn how to get the right measurements when using my expression and hate that I'm wasting paper!

  77. Hey Joy...your pulling at my heart strings with this one. My Mom, who has passed, was the one who taught me to sew and we did it together all the time. When she retired to FL, she gave me her 1960's Singer Touch & Sew machine cabinet and all! I use it now to sew on paper...works great! LOVE this project!! I think I will enlarge it a bit into a LO and add a few picks of Mom & I behind our machine!!
